24th Annual BillyBob Sweats Through Three-Setters to Get to Sunday Morning Semis, Finals
Hilton Head Island SC (TENNIS E-NEWS) – The competition certainly did match the weather in today’s quarterfinals and semifinals of the BillyBob Century Cup Doubles at South Beach Racquet Club. A couple walkovers resulted from players in two categories unable to compete with the unexpected heat in the semifinal rounds. The tournament finals and a semi or two will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday and finish in the afternoon.
The day got started on Court 1 with Liz and Jim Purcell setting the tone for the day in a 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 Mixed 80 (4.0) quarterfinal and protracted matches followed across the draws in the combined-age divisions.
