All Organizing by Email
Men's Interclub Deadline Monday for Registering Teams
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The registrations for the 2007 interclub league are coming in
very slowly, coordinator Dick Sonberg reports, reminding captains that Monday, 10/1 is October Fool's Day for teams to be registered to play.
No formal organization meeting will be held; everything will be done by email. Teams that want to enroll must email Sonberg at rtsiws@aol.com. The league will begin as soon as Super Seniors ends and will play through January 2008.
To register, email the name of team, site of matches, time matches commence, name of captain with email address and telephone, name of assistant captain with email address and telephone, level of play for which team is registering (2.5, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0). A player can play at two levels (for example, at 3.5 and also 4.0) but must be 50 or older by 12/31/2008 (not 2007).
No limit to number of players on a roster. Final date to add a player is December lst.
UPDATING
As exciting as it may have appeared, that three-set, double-tiebreak championship final at the South Carolina State Closed Clay Courts last weekend didn't quite happen that way. Exciting, yes. But HHI's Hank Iannuzzi and Bryce Young won it 6-2, 7-6 and 9-7 in the tiebreak -- not a second and third set ending in tiebreaks.
Also, we are awaiting updates on the RE/MAX CMN finals that were not complete in earlier postings.
Stay tuned.
