First Call for Spring League Season; Get Ready To Submit Your Pre-registration Forms
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- Believe it or not, the USTA League spring season will start in a little more than two months. Just two weeks away is the start or pre-registration when captains must notify level coordinators whether last spring's team will be courted in '08 and who will be the captain. New teams also will have to register.
Critical to every team's planning will be the year-end ratings that should be coming out in about three weeks. New this year is the non-medical rating appeals procedure that can be done online. That's a matter of going to http://www.sctennis.com and clicking on the "Ratings Appeals" tab. The procedure can be done at any time.
Here is a schedule of tentative dates for the 2008 season as sent out by one level coordinator--Sue Cook:
11/19/07 Pre-registration forms should be e-mailed
12/07/07 Pre-registration ends
01/06/08 Minimum registration due on TennisLink - scheduling will begin
01/08/08 Captain's Meeting
02/24/08 Midnight - rosters closed - no additions/deletions of players
It's never too early for captains to consult with the director of tennis or court site scheduler on availability for the late-January-through-early-May season. The South Carolina State Championships again will be held in mid-May on HHIsland.
