On to The Challenge

NOW, The Banana Is Complete – Muller Wins Men’s Open Singles

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-NEWS) – The 30th annual Banana Open is now complete, with Matt Wuller and Scott Beard belatedly settling the men’s open singles championship. What a day for the Riske-McGlamery family…………..

While Todd McGlamery was in the process of winning the Banana Men’s 3.5 singles, 18-year-old sister-in-law Alison Riske was engaged in a courageous battle in the Women’s $10K tournament at Van Der Meer Tennis Center. Todd’s story had a happy ending; Ali’s not so, losing in three sets. But – just a guess – Todd didn’t likely have to confront a serve like little sis-in-law did in #1 seed Alexandra Mueller. Oh, to be able to hit like a woman!
