Riske Advances to Quarterfinals in Head/Tail $10K USTA Women’s Championship
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) – Interrupted by the weather early, Alison Riske rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win today to join seven others in Friday’s quarterfinals of the $10,000 Head/Tail USTA Women’s Championship at Van Der Meer Tennis Center. Admission is free to spectators.
Riske, a McMurray PA high school graduate now living and training on Hilton Head Island, will begin her freshman year this fall at Vanderbilt University, where her sister Sarah Riske McGlamery, a HHIslander, was a four-year All-American. Riske and Jacqueline Cako are teamed in doubles and advanced today to the Friday semifinals by virtue of a walkover.
Four quarterfinal singles matches will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, followed by doubles semifinals that will begin about noon, but not before all the singles matches will have finished.

Two years ago TENNIS E-News ran a well-received series of excerpts from "The Code, The Players' Guide for Unofficiated Matches". You have asked for a repeat? You got it.
A player claims to have stopped play because the player thought that the opponent(s) was being hindered. Is this a hindrance? No. The player loses the point.
*Note: TENNIS E-News is not making up these items. All are taken word-for-word from USTA's "The Code" that can be found in the "Friend at Court" handbook or as a stand-alone leaflet -- available by going to http://www.usta.com and selecting "USTA Shop" and then "Books" on that page.
