Playoffs Settling Which Teams Will Be Going to Super Senior States at Seabrook Island

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The masks will come off on Halloween and uncover which HHI league teams will be heading to the USTA League South Carolina Super Senior State Championships Nov. 8-11 on Seabrook Island. Or maybe sooner, what with playoffs ongoing this week -- weather bedamned.

Combo leagues are completed and HHI champions or their replacements are in Charleston this weekend for the South Carolina State Championships. See story and schedule below.

Here are the Super Senior standings as we find them from TennisLink to date:

Super Senior 60s - (season end date in parentheses)

2.5 M - 4 teams (10/17) -- Sea Pines Falcons, Moss Creek Raging Bulls tied at 4-2; Falcons lead on courts won.

3.0 M - 18 teams (10/22) -- Sun City Dirt Ballers lead Flight I at 7-1; Sea Pines Falcons lead Flight II at 7-1; in playoffs

3.0 W - 11 teams (10/30) -- Sun City Hot Shots, CC of HH Tiebreakers tied at 8-1

Vacation Co. Adult Championships Under Way at VdM Shipyard

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- With 169 players in the draws, the annual Vacation Co. Adult Championships are smacking away … in a mostly senior manner … at Van der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club. The prize-money Open Division is full of local and visiting big hitters. Admission is free to spectators.

Action will continue through Sunday morning singles finals, to be followed by doubles championships in the USTA-sanctioned age division brackets of men's and women's play.

10 HHI Teams Heading for South Carolina Combo State Championships

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The HHI buses are on the way to Charleston for this weekend's USTA League South Carolina Combo State Championships, headcourted at Family Circle Tennis Center, Daniel Island. Ten HHI league teams will be competing in Adult, Senior and Super Senior levels.
