3 & Out

HHI League Teams Go 2-10 at Adult State 3.0, 3.5 Championships in Greenville

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The South Carolina Adult State Championships turned into another learning experience for Hilton Head Island league teams. What's to learn? They're tougher upstate and they proved it as the HHI teams went 2-10 in the 3.0 and 3.5 matches in Greenville Saturday and today and headed home instead of advancing to Monday's semifinals and finals. That leaves just one HHI league team winning an Adult state championship -- the Women's 2.5 Bluffton HS Alley Cats.

The 3.0 and 3.5 champions will join the Adult 2.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and all Senior levels at Southern Sectionals in July in Mobile AL. Set for Southerns July 19-22 will be Adult Men & Women 2.5, 3.0 & 3.5 and Senior Men & Women 4.0 & 4.5. From July 24-27 will be Adult 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5 & Open and Senior 2.5, 3.0 & 3.5
