9 States Competing

HHI Teams Win 3, Lose 0 in Day One at Southern Section Combo Championships in Mobile

MOBILE AL (TENNIS E-News via TennisLink) – Three Hilton Head Island teams competing in the Southern Section Combo League Championships won all their matches in the first group round robin series, led by the Senior Women’s 6.5 PD Net Jets with two team wins. Action continues Saturday and Sunday and wraps up Monday.

The Net Jets, captained by Patti Diggs, defeated teams from Alabama/Gulf Shores and Arkansas/Little Rock to stand alone in their group. The Super Senior Women’s 7.5 Hot Shots, captained by Jean Freeman, won all three courts over Tennessee “B” from Knoxville. Port Royal, captained by Dave Partington, won 2-1 over Arkansas “A” from North Little Rock in the Senior Men’s 7.5s.

( ) A man sitting in his front yard noticed is neighbor race to the mailbox, open it and then slam the mailbox door shut.
( ) A little later the neighbor runs out again and repeats the mailbox lid slamming. This happened a few more times before the man yelled to his neighbor to offer help.
