Junior Banana Challenge All Set for Finals Sunday at Palmetto Dunes
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) – Stoked by Friday night's pastafest by Carrabba's Italian Grill, young players from the HHI area and a few visitors rolled through the first two days of the Junior Banana Challenge at Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center. Finals are set for Sunday morning.
Under the tournament format set up by Director Jackie Reynecke, novice juniors played 8-game pro sets with a 7-point tie-break if tied at 7-all; tournament level play two sets with a 10-point super tiebreak if split.
The second annual event is presented by Dr. James Gigante and Friends of the Children to support research at the Charles Darby Research Center in Charleston. Proceeds from entry fees, drawings and a silent auction all go to the center.

Kathy Foulke Needs Captains(!!!) and Commitments for Super Senior Combo
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The Super Senior Combo League deadline is closing fast, with coordinator Kathy Foulke looking for a few good captains and some definite word on teams. Play is for 60 & older.
"I have one 6.5 men's team and two 7.5 men's teams," she said, including "nibbles" from a few others in 6.5s. Five 6.5 teams are set, together with three 7.5 women's teams. Play begins May 13.
