NEW AGAIN IN 2009: Two years ago TENNIS E-News ran a well-received series of excerpts from "The Code, The Players' Guide for Unofficiated Matches". You have asked for a repeat? You got it.
Receiver readiness. The receiver shall play to the reasonable pace of the server. The receiver should nake no effort to return a serve when the receiver is not ready. If a player attempts to return a serve (even a “quick” serve), then the receiver (or the receiving team) is presumed to be ready.
If you have a question or situation you would like to have addressed, email banana@hargray.com separately and we will try to help.
